Block 222

If you are a AirTel user and you have been spammed with lot of promotional SMSs and some times automated calls then just send the word block to 222 and hope for the best. I seriously need rule based filters for SMSs and incoming calls even on low end mobiles.

Ah, Kousik was very much in need of this. I hope he has seen this. I use a Reliance phone and I guess they dont have such option to opt-out. But considerably the "spam"(promotional sms) is less on Reliance.

Well, my mobile already has a simple minded filter (only sender based). The problem is, the SMSs come from a lot of different address (like 8888, 8423 and what not); and it is hard to "maintain" an effective filter. Imagine blocking spams only by sender address.

My phone also runs Java programs, but only as standalone application and not as a plugin. I can't register a java program as a SMS filtering hook.

"Everything should be scriptable."

Oh, BTW, wherefrom did you get the information that some guy at 222 is gonna help you with spams that your (and mine) own service provider is sending?

I threatened Airtel guys that if you don't stop it I am gonna surrender my connection. That guy only told me this procedure. It works I have now SMSs for a couple of days now. Actually I should surrender my connection any way so that I can buy a new mobile!

Hello Subhash Chandra Y. Well this blog certainly is not about promotional programs. As we all know, the internet plays tricks on us sometimes. I have been looking online for about two hours researching promotional programs and stumbling across your blog. VERY GOOD! It's a welcome break. If you don't mind I'd like to add your blog to my favorites list so I can come back later on and read some more stuff. Well I guess I should get back to researching promotional programs. Even though my search is not on Block 222. I am glad I came across your blog. Keep blogging away!

Hi Subhash Chandra Y. As you are probably aware, there are so many junk filled blogs. I was searching for lead capture page and lead capture page related information today and it's a nice break from the 'usual' to come across your blog. I'm happy I came across your site while searching for lead capture page related ideas today. I have no idea how searching for lead capture page got me here but thanks for the break.

Hi Subhash Chandra Y. There are not too many good home based business and home based business related sites that aren't full of junk posts, search engine scraping and except for keyword stuffing, nothing useful related to home based business. It was nice to find an exception today when I happened upon your site. Keep it going.

Well, best of luck and I'm back off looking for info on internet home business.
